Applesauce Season

Simplest ever!  And lovely on yogurt, oatmeal, ice cream…..

Just wash and chop apples leaving skin on.  I used 20 apples here and ended up with 21/2 quarts of applesauce.  Remember that cutting an apple into smaller chunks will take less cooking time.  Place apples in pan and add about 2 cups of water for 20 apples.  Adjust water for number of apples.  Cook on stove top or oven until desired consistency.  Stir. Cool and put in jars for refrigeration or freezer. ( This is chunky applesauce but you can put in food mill if you don’t want skins.)
