Making Herbs Last All Year

Fast forward to January and your recipes still call for herbs. You don’t need the grocery, though. With hardly any work at all, you can dip into your own store of herbs-in the freezer!

I followed the directions I found at homegrown.org to preserve tarragon, oregano and chives.  Simple: wash dry, wrap, freeze. A little more effort is required for the oregano pesto.

While you’re in the kitchen, try combining your own pesto concoctions-maybe add arugula? Look around the farmers market–you’ll find many wonderful,healthy herbs!
